This increase was caused by the occurring of cross and multiple resistance risk by using antibiotics as growth promoters and consumer tendency to natural foods. Phytobiotics mostly contain essential oils and various alkaloids. The use of phytobiotics in broiler rations has been shown by many studies that improve the enzymatic and morphological development of the digestive system, have antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects and ultimately improve performance, poultry health and product quality. The results can be changed depending on many factors such as the type, variety, botanical parts, harvest time and processing method of the plant.
