1 Çukurova Tarımsal Araştırma Enstitüsü Müdürlüğü, Adana - Distiller dried grains with solubles (DDGS) is a coproduct obtained in the dry-milling process of corn to produce ethanol after fermentation with the yeast Sacharomices cereviceae. The DDGS is a valuable source of energy, protein, phosphorus, water-soluble vitamins and minerals for animals. Increased emphasis on ethanol production in the world has and will continue to lead to significant increases in the amount of distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) available to the feed industry. When considering the potential use of an ingredient such as DDGS, primary emphasis is placed on obtaining accurate information regarding metabolizable energy and amino acid composition.
