² Uludağ Üniversitesi Ziraat Fakültesi Toprak Bilimi ve Bitki Besleme Bölümü-Bursa - Undoubtedly organic matter content of soils is one of the important factor for high quality and abundant crop production. In addition to improve the physical properties of soil, organic matter contributes to crop production via being energy source for micro-organisms in soil and contained plant nutrients. Fifty percent of the agri cultures oil contains 1-2% organic matter in Turkey. In addition to being a source of organic matter, organic poultry manure fertilizer is richer than other organic fertilizer specially nitrogen content. It is possible to eliminate poultry manure based salt stress and disease factors with composting process in proper conditions. Keywords : Organicmatter, poultrymanure, composting
