Some Performance Properties of Female Pure Lines in The Egg Production Period Which Are Being Raised for The Purpose of The Developing Broiler Parents in The Eskişehir Geçit Kuşaği Agricultural Research Institute

Totally 42 sir family data, each strain having 14 families, were used in the study. During this period, Live Weight (LW), Liveability, Egg Production (EP) [hatching and total; % and number, hen-day (HD) and hen housed (HH)], Egg Wight (EW), Egg Mass (EM, kg/per hen), Feed Consumption (FC, daily g/hen/day and total kg/hen) and Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) data were obtained. These data were analysed statistically (one way), means were compared (LSD) and the results examined. Differences between parents for LW (28 and 44 wks.) and liveability were not statistically significant. With respect to daily and total FC, and FCR for hatching and total egg, the difference between trains were found significantly different. For FC (daily and total), A1 strain showed higher values than the two others. With respect to FCR for hatching and total egg, the differences between the strains were found statistically significant. A1 strain was showed lower (better) FCR, as to the A2 and A3 strains. With respect to both FCR, while difference between A1 and A3 were not significant, the differences between A1 and A2 were statistically significant, on the favour of A1 strain. For both criteria, A1 and A3 strains were showed higher values then the A2 strain. For the hatching and total EP (% and number, HD and HH), the differences between the strains were statistically significant. For these properties, while the difference between A1 and A3 strains were not significant, for A1 and A2 were found significantly different, on the favour of A1 strain. Considering the hatching and total EP (HD and HH), FCR and the other properties, A1 strain is better than the others.
