Some Production and Egg Quality Traits in Native White Egg Layer Pure Lines and Their Crossbred
2 Ankara Üniv. Ziraat Fak. Zootekni Bölümü - This study was carried out to determine various production traits and egg quality traits of 4 white egg layer parents (Black, Blue, Brown, Maroon) and their crossbreds (BlackxBlue, BrownxBlue, MaroonxBlue and BlackxMaroon), which were conducted in compact type 3 floor individual cages according to randomized block design and each cage was considered as replicate. In this study 480 hens were used for 52 weeks. In the present study, significant differences for egg production, sexual maturity, live weight at 52 weeks, eggs strength, eggshell thickness and albumen index (P<0.01), and feed intake (P<0.05) were found among pure lines. However no significant differences were determined among pure lines for live weight at 50% production, livability, feed conversion, egg weight, shape index, specific gravity, yolk index and haugh unit. Regarding crossbreds, there were no significant differences among crossbreds for, livability, shape index, specific gravity and yolk index. However, for, sexual maturity, live weight at 52 weeks and eggs strength (P<0.01), egg production, feed intake, egg weight, albumen index and haugh unit were significantly different among the crossbreds (P<0.05).
